about us.

Sarah Yeo MA, LPC

I am a trauma-informed, licensed counselor who works with individuals struggling with co-dependency, childhood trauma, emotional abuse and adult ADHD.  I have a Master of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary and am licensed to practice in Missouri.  I also offer counseling in Korean and faith-based, Christian counseling to clients who may have these needs.  In addition, my background offers a deep understanding of what it is like to navigate a multicultural setting and living life as a first-generation immigrant.  I am incredibly fortunate to be  working with a very diverse group of clients from all cultural and religious backgrounds.

Beyond my training and degree, my most valued credential I offer my clients is my personal experience of going through the deep valleys of life.  I offer empathy through a lived experience of the hardships that our beautiful life presents.  My hope with each client is that, not only will they have a therapist but someone who is also by their side, rooting for them and someone who believes that they deserve the absolute best of what life has to offer.

Counseling Approach

Counseling with me will look like sitting together in our cozy office, sharing, listening, and being present with each other.  During our sessions, I will not only be listening to your words but to your whole self as your whole body communicates just as much as your words.

I have some training and a special interest in the following counseling modalities: EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy); CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy); DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy); interpersonal processing; strength-based approach; and client-centered model.  I will use interventions when it is appropriate to treatment and the unique situation of each client.

I have a knack for making connections and listening beyond what is being said.  What I hope to do is not just tell you what to do but work with you to discover your hurt, trauma, struggles and together realize your strengths and resilience to reach your goals.
